September Beauty Subscriptions

Anyone else getting pink ladies/t-birds vibes from all the pink, black and white with the bags and the shipping packages?

If you’re new to my blog, hello! Both of these subscriptions are $10ish a month, and around this time next month I’ll come back and let you know what my thoughts on these items were. You can check out last months items here, and my follow up here. Because it’s one thing to just show what subscription services send, it’s another to tell if I actually used it or not. Enjoy, and please let me know if you have any questions about either subscription in the comments below.

Touch in Sol Matallist Liquid Foil & Glitter Eye Shadow Duo in Talia

This is one of those dual eyeshadow things that has a cream you’re supposed to put on first and then a glitter to top it with. Truth be told I have never had an interest in these, the reviews I’ve seen of the Dose of Colors version aren’t positive. Most people say the base just doesn’t hold down the glitter and then it’s all over your cheeks by the end of the day. I am not someone who wants glitter all over my face, not even at the start of my day. I also don’t find many occasions in my day to day to wear such glitzy glitter. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll try this for the sake of trying new things, I just don’t have high hopes of loving it or using it correctly.

Sephora Collection Contour Eye Pencil 12hr Wear Waterproof in Black Lace

I get why a subscription service would choose black for an eyeliner, it’s pretty universal. However, I BARELY use eyeliner, and I have about 8 sample eyeliners, all in black. This may go the way of the Naked setting powder from last month if I’m thinking about what’s in my drawer already. But on the other hand I don’t have many waterproof liners, so perhaps I’ll stow this away for when the one I do have runs out 8 years from now.

Algenist Genius Ultimate Anit-Aging Cream

I guess this is where they were going with the theme for the month? If this could change the dry skin between my eyebrows I’ll bow down to it. But it says it’s anti-aging not a super hydrating cream, so I guess we shall see. I don’t think I’ll actually see any difference in my skin after using this, it’s not very much. I’ll keep you posted if it makes me look 18 again. 😉 I know it’s never to early to start preventing the signs of aging, I just feel like this is something you’d have to commit to long term for real results. A sample wouldn’t really show you much. I could be wrong, it might be an amazing moisturizer.

Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream

Umm, what are you trying to say Sephora? TWO ANTI AGING PRODUCTS? Image result for how rude memeJust kidding, but seriously, two face creams. At first I thought one was a face a cream and the other might be an eye cream, but no, both face. I guess they figured two would be plenty to get someone through a whole month of using these creams morning and night everyday. I have my doubts to that claim, but maybe? Other than my utter shock at two of basically the same type of product, I have the same thoughts I had for the last product. So see above.

Wander Beauty Wanderout Lipstick in Wanderberry

When I looked at the bottom of the tube it said dual lipstick, and I spent about 3 minutes doubting my hulk strength trying to pull off the bottom of the tube. I couldn’t, it’s a single, but the full size is a dual ended lipstick. It’s okay that this isn’t two, after reviewing the full size, I don’t know that I’d care for the color on the other end of Wanderberry. But I do love this color. It looks like a great color to wear all year, it’s a berry but not so dark that it couldn’t still work for Spring and Summer.

Bonus Item
Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask

This is the first time it hasn’t been a perfume sample. Which threw me off for a second but I don’t mind because I’ve heard a lot of people LOVE this. So I’m excited to try, however, it’s a single use packet…so I don’t know how much of an effect I’ll see after one use, but if it works out I might be interested in purchasing a jar of this. And by works out, I totally mean if it smells good and it’s super expensive.

Luxie Rose Gold Medium Angeld Shading Eye Brush 207

I LOVE getting brushes. Brushes are always needed, but I don’t always buy them because I don’t actually need more. Sure I could use more to aide my lazy nature and go longer without washing my brushes, but I don’t NEED more. Thus when I get a brush I feel like it’s such a treat. I’ve also never tried Luxie brushes so I’m glad to have a new brand to try.

ColourPop Lippie Stix in Glam Bag

*Sigh* This thing. A while back Ipsy let subscribers vote on this collaboration with Colourpop. I did vote for the lippie stix because my lips can’t take anymore matte/liquid lipsticks right now. I don’t remember what color I voted for, but it wasn’t this. Because this is a bright pinkish blue tone, which I can’t pull off. Pinks just don’t seem to work for me, and I’d rather donate this or give it to a friend brand new than put it on just to confirm that it looks crazy on my face.

Eva NYC Zero Gravity Volume Powder

POWDER?!?!? What kind of madness is this? I’ve tried to find a bunch of people I know who’ve tried a powder hair product, and only have one friend who’s tried it. She said it was a huge mess to use. I haven’t opened this yet, but it feels really light. I’ll probably be shocked if anything comes out when I do open it. I’ll try to have my camera ready when I use this to show what the mess level turns out to be. Although if my bathroom is already super dirty, I won’t, because we aren’t friends like that.

Pixi by Petra Beauty Blush Duo in Peach Honey

So this says blush duo which to me means it’s two blushes. But no way in hell I’d wear that white side as a blush. Plus both sides are super shimmery, and as mentioned before, I’m not big on glitter all over my face. I did rub my finger around in both colors to see what that looks like, it’s pretty, but I still don’t know that I can bring my self to put so much shimmer on such a large portion of my face (my cheeks are pretty big in my opinion). I would use this as a highlighter though. And when I went to find the product to link it, turns out the white side is supposed to be a highlighter. So I’m a bit annoyed with the name choice, but glad I’m not crazy in thinking Pixi is crazy for making this white blush.

Adesse New York Organic Infused Gel Effect Nail Lacquer in Deception

I’m not getting a whole lot of excitement out of this color. It seems like a nude greyish brown, which I normally die for in a lip color but on my nails, meh. That’s how this makes me feel initially, meh. I’m also a little disappointed I got a nail polish two months in a row. I’m glad they were completely different colors, but still. It feels uninspired. But I do like Adesse nail polishes, well I like the one other one that Ipsy sent me a year ago. So at least there’s that.

Don’t forget to check back next month for my post usage thoughts on these products!
